Scott DreierYeah, I'm still around! Though it's mostly on lurk basis these days. I have a new job now where I basically work overnight (7pm - 7am) and it's dang near every night. When I get home, I'm knocked out tired and I sleep all day. The good news is paying for this new sub was pretty much pocket change, so that's nice.
Hot-Shot, while one of the original nicks, is extremely dated now. I have two main nicks everywhere, Aquaslash, and GrandMasterGalvatron, so might as well use one here.
You might have noticed this by now, especially if you follow me on other places, but my passion for Sonic seems to have died down a whole bunch. Or perhaps I should say it's been...supplanted? Overwritten? Yeah, let's go with that. Super Sentai/Power Rangers has taken over for the longest time. Started with RPM, and then just went full blown wild with Gokaiger. I've watched every sentai and PR that was currently airing since Gokaiger, and I've gone back and watched Shinkenger, Goseiger, and Mystic Force (which is extremely underrated btw). There IS something Rangers related in the pipelines and it's rather huge, but the thing is just finding the time and energy to do it.
Only problem is, Rangers is slowly being overwritten by...POKEMON of all things. I bought Black 2 on a whim in July, and it has been literal CRACK since. I remember ing into this when the show first started, and I had some cards too, then I just fell off due to overwhelming pressure from my mom, who found it demonic for some reason. Now I'm back full swing, ready for X/Y and playing catch up with all I've missed. If I were to have a signature pokemon, it would be Serperior. I already liked him a ton anyway, and then Contrary happened. Awesomeness everywhere.
The S Factor is by no means dead, in fact, it WON the 2013 Sonic Hacking contest. I STILL can't believe that BTW. Like, I literally threw it in, and public to boot, because I was hoping that the feedback would motivate me to finish it. I thought Unleashed project was going to have a clean sweep, but S Factor got the three trophies it consistently gets (best character ability, best special stage, best music) and then stole 1st place. Blew my mind, it did, but I should have figured it out from the podcast invite.
I'm glad it's rather popular though. It was always a project to appease my own wishes for a game and just thrown out for whoever else would enjoy it. Big plans for that too, I just need time and energy!
So that's that, for all two of you that care. Been out on my own for about a year now, and in an ironic twist of fate, I can now very easily afford to actually visit my ex GF, and the inability to do that was one of the defining reasons we broke up. Oh well. I haven't even spoken to her in dang near 6 months. That's life I guess.
